We've won the coveted 2026 ROSE Award

The ROSE (Recognition of Service Excellence) Awards recognise accommodation providers across England that deliver an outstanding customer experience. They celebrate the owners, managers and employees who provide exceptional service and the warmest of welcomes, regardless of accommodation type, star rating or style.

VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes said:

“The VisitEngland ROSE Awards showcase the excellent accommodation available across England. They honour the people behind the businesses who go out of their way to provide outstanding customer service, innovative options for all tastes and budgets and a great welcome for visitors. Where people rest their heads is central to ensuring memorable visitor experiences, whether that’s glamping or B&B stays, to country pubs with rooms or self-catering cottages, these providers drive tourism and its benefits across communities.”""

What's great about the ROSE Award?

What makes the ROSE Awards particularly special is that you don’t simply enter them yourself. Winners are nominated by VisitEngland’s Quality Scheme assessors, with their comments considered alongside online feedback from both UK and overseas visitors, so they’re a lovely reflection of the experience guests actually receive.

The awards celebrate brilliant hospitality in all its forms, from B&Bs and hotels to self-catering properties, holiday parks, glamping sites and hostels. Winners span three, four and five-star accommodation, as well as accredited properties, but they all have one thing in common: they’re part of the VisitEngland Quality Schemes and share a real commitment to excellent service, innovation and making their guests feel genuinely welcome.

2026 marks the 10th year of the VisitEngland ROSE Awards, with this year’s winners presented with their awards at a special event at The Post Barn in Newbury, Berkshire, on Tuesday 8 September.

And these awards celebrate an industry that makes a huge contribution to the country. Tourism is one of England’s largest and most valuable industries, worth around £127 billion a year to the economy and supporting 2.1 million jobs – many of them in the rural towns, villages and coastal communities that make England such a special place to visit.

Why are we so happy about winning the 2026 ROSE Award?

At Hartington Hills, customer experience is at the heart of everything we do. Mum and I have the vision for the business, and our outstanding team members bring it to life. Making Hartington Hills what it is today is all about team work, collaboration, and enjoyment. As a small business, the small things we do behind the scenes often go unnoticed. Winning an award like the ROSE award is a way for us to get a little pat on the back for what we do. Being recognised by England's official tourism body for our contribution to the tourism industry... well, it doesn't get much better than that.

It's such a pleasure to be able to bring an award home, share it with our team, our customers and our friends and family. It confirms that what we do makes a difference to the individuals that work with us and stay with us, but also for the wider industry.

We couldn't be more pleased to have taken home this award. Thank you VisitEngland, thank you to our team members, and thank you to our customers.
