A New Chapter at the Campsite: Our Horsebox Coffee & Bar
There’s something special about creating spaces that bring people together, and this season we’re excited to introduce the newest addition to the campsite, our lovingly converted horsebox café and bar.
What was once a working horsebox has been transformed into a cosy little gathering spot where campers can start and end their day in the best possible way.
Between 8am and 10am, the horsebox opens its hatch to serve freshly brewed coffees, warm pastries, and slow campsite mornings. It is open on weekends in the shoulder and low seasons, and busy weekdays such as school holidays and bank holidays in the mid and high seasons.
Whether you’re easing into the day with a cappuccino in hand, grabbing a flaky croissant before heading out for a walk, or simply enjoying the peaceful countryside atmosphere, we wanted to create a simple morning ritual that feels relaxed and welcoming.
There’s no need to rush off-site for breakfast essentials, you can stay wrapped up in campsite life a little longer.
The smell of fresh coffee drifting across the field in the morning has already become one of our favourite parts of the day.
As the day winds down, the horsebox reopens from 5pm to 7pm as a small campsite bar. Again, it is open on weekends in the shoulder and low seasons, and busy weekdays such as school holidays and bank holidays in the mid and high seasons.
It’s a chance for guests to gather after a day of exploring, share stories from their adventures, and enjoy a drink while the sun begins to set. The positioning of the Horsebox means stunning views are guaranteed.
We wanted the space to feel informal and friendly, somewhere you can pull up a chair, chat with fellow campers, and soak up the atmosphere that makes campsite life so memorable, without it being a distraction from the peace and tranquility of the site which is why we chose to operate with restricted hours.
Whether you’re stopping by for a cold beer, a glass of wine, or a refreshing soft drink, the horsebox has quickly become a lovely social hub for guests.
One of the things we love most about the conversion is how much character the horsebox has retained.
Rather than creating something overly polished, we embraced its rustic charm and gave it a new purpose that fits naturally with the campsite. It feels unique, relaxed, and full of personality, exactly the kind of experience we want guests to remember.
Of course the Horsebox was built to spec with our signature blue colour, making it fit right in with our surrounding buildings.
The project has been a real labour of love, and seeing guests enjoy the space makes every late night and finishing touch worthwhile.
If you’re staying with us this season, make sure you stop by the horsebox during your visit.
Join us for a morning coffee and pastry, or unwind with an evening drink after a day outdoors. We can’t wait to welcome you.
And if you spot the warm lights glowing from the horsebox as the evening rolls in, come over and say hello, there’s always room for one more.
